The ability to buy a new Kindle, which I have ordered, and have the old one still work answers one of my biggest problems with it. Before if I bought a book I liked I could not share it because of DRM, now if I have one I want to share with my wife or another trusted friend, I can loan her or him my old Kindle. Although expensive, perhaps this is one answer to books and DRM, I understand why Amazon and publishers do not want to someone distribute 100 copies of a book they buy for $9.00, but this way some limited sharing is permitted. More so if books you buy are available on more devices.

Peter, do you really think this Kindle or a future similar device can save newspapers/magazines? I've never even seen anyone with 1.0, but I find the idea interesting, particularly after that NYT article about how newspapers should look for an ipod like business model. What are your thoughts?
