The answer you'll hear from publishers is that you'll be served by visiting the "verticals" at bigger sites. But note what's happened at Valleywag. The site used to cater to a Silicon Valley crowd. But since being rolled into Gawker it writes pieces with a much broader audience in mind, and people who valued it for its tech-centric coverage are grumbling. Can't fault the publisher for trying to reach the largest number of people possible. can wonder about how all of this plays out. I think about that all the time, Dave.
