Drudge always sticks out like a sore thumb on these lists. I think I once read where the entire site is produced by Drudge himself and one other guy (Breitbart) and there are almost no "articles" but only headlines with pointers to other sites. It's almost like a manually produced RSS feed, which ironically doesn't support a feed of its own.

I check it every day, sometimes several times and almost always feel I'm a day ahead of the news cycle as a result.

And yet, there are no imitators.

One has to wonder why.

PS: I wonder why the valuation is 4 times that of a year ago. I find it hard to believe there are that many more clicks now than then (explanation needed).

One POSSIBLE explanation is that there did exist some bootleg RSS feeds of the site that suddenly stopped working about a year ago. And since the site itself is mostly links, these feeds allowed you to click right past the Drudge site in most cases. Cracking down on the bootleggers may well have made him a ton of money.
