Let me rephrase: Is the purpose of this article to warn your readers against the pitfalls of hit-whoring journalism? To point the finger at those dime-a-dozen bloggers who throw a bit of Steve into the mix to generate some attention in bad taste? If not, I’d love to hear why you wrote this article because I can’t quite figure out myself. And exactly what do you mean “love it”, Peter? Loving the attention you managed to draw out of four posters for all the wrong reasons?

@Ian Mowat That would indeed be the case if he had the surgery last year. The thing is he had it FIVE years ago in, 2004 (the cancer was discovered in 2003).

Why are you posting if you don’t know the facts? And should comments be moderated for obvious factual errors?

If he has had a malignant pancreatic tumor and a Whipple’s operation (big op) and he presents next year with severe loss of weight, then he is unlikely to make it, medically speaking.
