To be fair, Megavideo is only as popular as it is because it’s one of the few chinese video websites written in English. There are plenty that are not where, with a bit of common sense, it is still comparatively easy to find pirated content, with no time limits, and the quality is usually better, too.

90% of the content on megavideo and megaupload is pirated content, mostly Asian anim and full length movies.
you will also be rewarded if you are a premium member by receiving
100% of the advertising revenue generated by the video. An
ad will be popped out automatically as soon as you hit the play button. They guys are definitely thriving on the pirated content.

Keeping track of sites like http://sidereel.com and http://movietvonline.com would show the rise of http://megavideo.com.

Another interesting fact given the high number of copyright violtations, they offer a premium account as well!
