		<description>Perhaps &quot;big media&quot; should put more focus on SEO. They have built in advantages over many small niche sites (page rank, quality links, editors, internal search stats etc..) and should exploit those advantages fully. 

Where (what sections or magazines) do they want more traffic? what topics are the most profitable (from a display or customer acquisition point of view)?  This stuff isn&#039;t rocket science but requires a little thinking..  The NYTIMES isn&#039;t mass media, they are potentially publishers of content in 12 or 13 disciplines that need to managed as such.. Maybe their doing that and their just mad Google has become ingrained into the current workflow of their readers...
