It does bring out one often avoided truth — if feature X is available on a Blackberry or Win Mobile device, chances are it is way too complicated for the average user, and very few people will actually use it.

Put it on an iPhone, however, and suddenly EVERYONE starts using feature X. AT&T is acknowledging this reality — it’s network will never be endangered by its Blackberry users, because most of them do email only.

Slinging eats as much pipe as it can to optimize the picture as much as possible, so there’s definitely merit to their argument. However, AT&T, as one of the nation’s largest cable operators, may have their own designs on streaming television to your smartphone.
