Hulu's got to provide lip service to its network shareholders, but everyone knows it's just a matter of time before TV shows are accessed on demand to view on whatever platform is handy. As that happens, new sites like www.TV1.com will help access short form humor and news and web videos, while Hulu will basically broadcast shows for the major networks and studios, on demand. This distinction between platforms is an arbitrary one and exists only to placate advertisers who still maintain the illusion that traditional UNMEASURABLE TV eyeballs are worth more than Internet eyeballs.

This is as silly as Sarah Palin preaching abstinence. Didn't work too well did it?

If it's on the Internet, it's on my TV: PCTVCables.com

TV Over Internet (or my preferred term Web-to-TV) will persist and prevail. Either the Networks will find a way to embrace the inevitable or the distribution side (DirecTV, TimeWarner, Liberty Media, etc.) will.

I find this a bit humorous that they are trying to keep this confined to a monitor. Unless Im missing something, what is preventing me from using the Desktop app with an HDMI cable straight to my TV. That is how I currently use Hulu and the Desktop app could make that all the more easier. So long as I am ok with using a laptop as my device connected to my TV-how does this differ from Boxee and the like?

Im hoping they are not that naive and that for legal reasons, to continue to block Boxee they need to have language stating that the Desktop app can only be used on a monitor because this sounds every bit the Boxee knockoff product developed by Hulu (which Im cool with-just call a spade a spade).
