Speed, wifi is much faster than 3G. If you don't have a signal you have no way to access anything when otherwise maybe there might be wifi available. Do you always plan on lugging your laptop wherever you go? Does your laptop have all the apps your phone has? Is your laptop always the most convenient or fastest way to complete a task? I'll have an unlimited voice plan, so there's no possible voice end-run available there. And I can't think of many places where I'll have wifi access but won't have my laptop. What am I missing?
