Jack Griffin’s Time Inc. Legacy, Encased In Plastic

I’m still trying to figure out why Jack Griffin’s six-month run atop Time Warner’s publishing unit ended yesterday afternoon.

But in the meantime, I have found the former Time Inc. CEO’s marching orders to the troops, which never got delivered.

The story: Last December, Griffin ordered up 200 double-sided desktop plaques/awards (is there a technical term for these things?) that he wanted distributed to his top executives. For whatever reason, no one actually handed them out, and they’re now sitting in storage somewhere, I’m told.

But I have been able to see one for myself, and now I can share these grainy cameraphone snapshots with you (apologies for shadows, etc). So if you’d like, you can consider them Griffin’s parting words of advice:
