NBC Cleans Up Its Earnings Act for Comcast

zuckerAfter a couple of miserable quarters, NBC Universal finally has some good news to announce: Boosted by a one-time gain, earnings actually increased in Q3, even though the entertainment conglomerate’s revenue kept dropping. Perhaps those numbers will cheer Comcast investors, who have been beating up the cable company ever since news of its talks to buy NBCU surfaced last month.

Is There Anything You People Won’t Watch on the Web? Nope: Video Views Up 25 Percent.

While stats show that the overall size of the Internet video audience has increased by 12 percent in the last year, the amount of video consumed has shot up 25 percent.

Report: Comcast Buying NBC for $35 Billion. Comcast: “Inaccurate”

Back for Yet Another Season: The “What Will GE Do With NBC?” Show

Tribune Files for Chapter 11; Who’s on the Hook?

As predicted, Sam Zell’s Tribune Co. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. In the company’s initial filing, it lists assets of $7.6 billion and $12.9 billion in liabilities. Much of that debt belongs to big banks, of course–J.P. Morgan has more than $1 billion by itself. But Tribune owes lots of money to lots of media companies, too.
